Doctors

Dr James Fisher – GP Senior Partner

MRCGP MBBS MSc BSc

Dr Fisher has been working at Acle Surgery as a GP for approximately seven years. Prior to joining Acle, he worked in psychiatry in London. His main interests are in skin conditions and minor surgery, including excision of lesions and joint injections. Understandably, he has a long-standing interest in severe and enduring mental health problems from his time working in the capital. He lives locally with his wife and enjoys swimming, sailing on the Broads, and spending time with family.

Dr Sadasivam Sivamalar – GP Partner

MBBS, DRCOG, MRCGP

I graduated in 1995. After having worked in the north of England, I have been settled in Norwich since 2003. I completed my GP training in Norwich and have been a GP since 2009. I am keen on all aspects of General Practice including health promotion and disease prevention. I have a particular interest in Women’s health. Outside of work, I keep busy spending time with my husband and two children. I also enjoy walking and cooking.

Dr Rachel Christie – GP Partner

MRCGP, MBChB, BSc

I joined Acle Medical Partnership in 2021 as a partner. I completed my medical degree at the Univer-sity of Leicester and also have a BSc in Psychology from the University of Nottingham. I returned to my hometown of Norwich to complete my Foundation Training and GP Speciality Training on the Norwich scheme and have worked in the Norfolk & Norwich and James Paget University Hospi-tals. Since completing my GP training I have worked in North Norfolk and enjoy the mix of urban and rural communities that working in this part of Norfolk brings. I enjoy all areas of general practice and particularly enjoy women’s health. I am a qualified GP trainer and am looking forward to introducing doctors who are training to be GPs into our team at Acle Medical Practice later this year. I hope you will be able to support these doctors, and our practice, by taking part in consultations with them. Outside of work, I enjoy family life with my husband and two school age children, and I enjoy reading, running and a spot of baking.

Dr Nicky Carroll – GP Partner

MRCGP MBBS BA

I joined Acle Surgery in 2023. Prior to this I completed my Norwich based GP training and medical degree at the University of East Anglia, training predominantly in the Norfolk & Norwich and James Paget Hospital.  I previously lived in London, working in Homelessness, and have a former degree in Politics and International Development. I’m passionate about General Practice and particularly enjoy understanding what’s important to our patients. I have a special interest in lifestyle medicine and prevention alongside addressing health inequalities. I live locally with my husband, young family and a lively Labrador. I generally enjoy being active and outdoors, particularly on our beautiful beaches. I’m pleased to announce that since April 2024 I am now a partner of the practice and I’m looking forward to working with an excellent and positive team.

I love the sea and water and enjoy a sport called outrigging- sea kayaking . I am very fortunate to have been offered the opportunity to work at such a good surgery.

Dr Rachel Thomson – GP
